START Summit 2025: Innovation, Networking & Startup Spirit in St. Gallen

At the end of March, it was that time again: the START Summit in St. Gallen brought together startups, investors and innovation enthusiasts from all over Europe – and the KIT was right in the middle of it! With a bus full of creative minds, curiosity and a desire to network, we made our way to Switzerland to gather inspiration, make contacts and put our startups in the international spotlight.
Why the START Summit is worth it
As one of the largest student-organised startup events in Europe, the START Summit x Hack offers a unique platform for young companies, investors and innovators. In addition to top-class keynotes, a huge startup exhibition and workshops, there were numerous opportunities to network with the international startup scene.
Strong startup presence
The summit was a valuable opportunity for our startups to present their ideas, make new contacts and get feedback – and even close a few deals on the spot.
Four KIT startups, Prefiro, ONINO, CAVIGEN and ICODOS, had the chance to present their innovations at their own booth in the exhibition. International visibility, new contacts – and initial talks about possible collaborations and investments.
Over 30 hackers from the KIT
Around 30 hackers from the KIT demonstrated their skills at the hackathon. From creative software solutions to innovative business models. And all in 36 hours of work – great work!
Networking across borders
Together with a delegation from the Baden-Württemberg ecosystem, we exchanged ideas with other startup centres, investors and partners. The summit was an ideal opportunity to provide new impetus for startup funding in our ecosystem and beyond. We are definitely bringing some new contacts, ideas and partnerships back to Karlsruhe.
Our conclusion
The START Summit 2025 was once again a hotspot for inspiration, innovation and new connections. We are returning to Karlsruhe with fresh ideas, new partnerships and plenty of motivation – and we are excited to see what doors this event will open for us and our startups.
