Startup Factories
With a new network, we become NXTGN!
In the future, Startup Factories will be the central contact points for innovation in Germany. At NXTGN, we aim to become one of these Startup Factories.
Significance for the KIT Presidium
KIT is a partner from the very beginning
Prof. Dr. Thomas Hirth, Vice President for Transfer and International Affairs: “The NXTGN Startup Factory is a flagship project for KIT and Germany as a center of innovation. Through close cooperation with leading universities and companies, we are creating a joint platform for deep tech spin-offs and the ‘next generation of SMEs’. With a focus on deep tech innovations, we are jointly providing decisive impetus for Germany’s innovation and competitiveness.”

THE “LEUCHTTURM” COMPETITION
The German Government promotes Startup Factories
The German government is expanding EXIST-Förderung funding to include the “Startup Factories Leuchtturm Competition”. The aim is to establish five to ten supra-regional and internationally visible Startup Factories as central contact points for innovations, thus increasing the number and quality of knowledge-based spin-offs.
NXTGN from Baden-Württemberg has reached the next round of the competition and is one of the 15 winners of the first activation phase.
