Overview

Building the future – from broken concrete and CO₂

Rement’s goal is to rethink the life cycle of building materials. By processing broken concrete and using CO₂, materials can be returned to the recycling cycle. This not only conserves resources, but is also a decisive step toward climate-neutral construction.

With this vision, the team led by Robert Schleinhege, Achim Stammer, and Felix Baur has attracted a lot of attention in the start-up scene in recent months – and celebrated important successes.

You can find more information about the start-up in our blog and in our podcast interview with Felix and Robert from the team.

Rement has already won several awards

A particular highlight: Rement recently impressed at Stage Two in Berlin, one of the largest pan-European competitions for university startups. After a strong pitch and a confident Q&A session, Robert Schleinhege received an invitation to Due Diligance from Nucleus Capital.

The team also impressed at other events such as the Startup BW Summit, where it won several awards. Rement is thus a prime example of the next generation of sustainable high-tech startups emerging from KIT and making an impact far beyond Karlsruhe.

Support from EXIST and the KIT environment

Since October 2024, Rement has been funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) as part of the EXIST Research Transfer Phase I program.

We would like to express our special thanks to Dietrich Hofmann and Ulrike Tiedt from Project Management Jülich for their technical and administrative support, as well as to Rolf Blattner from KIT, who provided the team with intensive support on its journey from the initial idea to the spin-off.

With Rement, our investment portfolio grows to 14 startups, all of which have one thing in common: they drive sustainable innovation from KIT with passion and scientific excellence.

We look forward to accompanying Rement on its journey toward a future in which construction is no longer part of the problem, but part of the solution.
