We will be at VivaTech 2025 – from June 11 to 14 in Paris. VivaTech is one of Europe's leading innovation and startup trade shows, where global tech companies, innovative startups, and investors meet every year to shape the future of technology and digitalization.
Exciting KIT startups will also be present at the joint booth of the French-German Tech Lab: NOXON, Prefiro, CAVIGEN, Rement, Prio Optics, and Validaitor. You can find us in Hall 1, Booth D11-077.
Our startups at Viva Technology
NOXON
NOXON combines nano-based materials with mass printing processes to produce flexible, stretchable, washable, and inexpensive sensors that can be applied to various materials. These sensors measure muscle activity and utilize the therapeutic possibilities of functional electrical stimulation (FES). The result is a lightweight, durable garment that can be worn and used anywhere and improves muscle health. In its first application, the team is using the garments to counteract muscle atrophy after sports injuries to the knee. To do this, the system is simply integrated into socks, casts, or bandages, where it measures muscles and activates them in a targeted manner without movement.

Prefiro
The founding team at Prefiro develops smart robotics systems for agriculture. Their focus: special crops grown close to the ground, such as green asparagus and saffron. Using cameras and AI, the robot can detect exactly when and where harvesting is required – and adapts flexibly to different plant species. This makes harvesting more efficient, cost-effective, and easy to integrate into existing operations.
Prefiro talks about its founding story in our interview podcast.

CAVIGEN
Models that do not accurately reflect the situation in humans are still used in drug development. CAVIGEN develops methods for cultivating 3D cell cultures under physiological conditions and conducting experiments on them. To this end, sensor arrays have been developed—small microcavity arrays in which cells are cultivated in three dimensions and, for the first time worldwide, oxygen can be measured in the immediate microenvironment of the cell aggregates. This technology offers the opportunity to make drug development safer in the future and may be a way to reduce animal testing.

Rement
Rement stands for sustainable concrete upcycling. Using its technology, demolition concrete and CO2 are converted back into reusable sand and precipitated calcium carbonate, a filler for the paper and plastics industries. Rement’s solution is aimed at building material recycling companies and cement producers.

Prio Optics GmbH
Prio Optics is developing a new technology for the production of optical filters. Thanks to this new, cost-effective method, the filters can be manufactured in an energy-efficient manner and are suitable for various technological applications. The aim is to further improve optics and photonics production and minimize environmental impact.

Validaitor
VALIDAITOR is the all-in-one platform for trustworthy AI. The KIT spin-off is pioneering the development of automated tools that regulate, validate, and manage compliance with AI models. The VALIDAITOR platform combines all the necessary components to track AI assets, read and audit AI systems, and manage and automate compliance processes, enabling organizations to apply trustworthy and responsible AI best practices while adhering to AI regulations and standards.
