Preliminary Program: 118. Founders' Barbecue meets PionierGarage

The PionierGarage went on a start-up tour, this year to Asia.

In the supporting programme of the 118th Founders Grill, they will show their exciting and inspiring travel documentary through South Korea and Japan and give insights into the highlights and learnings of their trip.

Come along and get an inside view and interesting insights from the twelve fellow travellers.

Three Highlights from the tour

1. The Startup Tour itself is a highlight. We have the opportunity to experience the countries like tourists. At the same time, we have thought about a few questions beforehand and can answer them bit by bit during the meetings with founders, startups, VCs, accelerators, government representatives and in embassies, thus getting to know the countries with their culture, history, society, business and innovation landscape better and better.

2. The hospitality and organisational skills of the people we meet here.

3. The free time between appointments, especially in Japan, can be really well organised. We visit many temples, go hiking and take a walk in the park among the many cherry trees in bloom.

Three Learnings

1. The speed in Korea is impressive and crucial to the success of the innovation landscape.

2. In Korea, the state has a significant influence on the economy. 4.8% of GDP is invested in innovation, and five-year plans focus on specific topics.

3. In Korea, innovations and new technologies are first tested in the market, then discussed in society and, if necessary, regulated.
