Overview

At the world’s leading trade fair for industry, around 4,000 companies from the mechanical engineering, electrical and digital industries as well as the energy sector presented technologies and solutions for a networked and climate-neutral industry. From the digitalisation and automation of complex production processes to the use of hydrogen to supply energy to factories and the application of software to record and reduce the CO2 footprint.

Of course, we from KIT-Gründerschmiede could not be missing here to present ourselves and our international offers of the Global Horizan Program (GHPro). Of course, our spin-offs were also present. Each day, two start-ups presented themselves and used the opportunity to introduce themselves to an interested audience of experts. Spotium, nanoshape GmbH, RevoAI, Formic, Aimino GmbH, Respeak. SemorAI GmbH, prenode GmbH, REVYVE and Inventife.

On Monday, KIT President Holger Hanselka was a guest at the stand and informed himself about the start-ups Spotium and nanoshape. The very next day, Prof. Dr. Thomas Hirth, Vice President for Transfer and International Affairs, visited the start-up stand of KIT-Gründerschmiede together with Jens Fahrenberg, IRM Director. On that day, the teams RevoAI and FORMIC Transport System had the opportunity to present themselves.

How did the start-ups like it? Here is some feedback.

John Holzhauer, CEO & Founder Semorai GmbH: “We were able to make valuable business contacts at the Hannover Messe, which have already resulted in further follow-up appointments. We are very grateful to the KIT team for their support with the organisation and the opportunity to exhibit.”

Du Tam Nguyen, Founder & CTO at Aimino: “Our visit to HM this year proved particularly insightful as the main focus was on ChatGPT and generative AI. As a startup that got involved in generative AI early on, we were thrilled to see the lively interest and numerous inspiring conversations around this innovative topic.” Tam, Co-Founder of Aimino.

Nico Bartelt, CEO & Co-Founder Spotium: “Thanks to Hannover Messe, we were able to engage with over 75 people about Spotium, at least 20 of whom are hot leads that we are actively following up on. So the Hannover Messe was a complete success for us. Thanks at this point to KIT-Gründerschmiede for the opportunity.”

Benedikt Klee, Co-Founder FORMIC Transportsystem: “We had many interesting conversations at HMI 2023 and got a good response to our vehicle. in addition, we were able to generate many new contacts from a diverse audience.”

Gustav Nils Basedow, Managing Director at RevoAI GmbH: “On the part of KIT Gründerschmiede, top preparation. I have never had a trade fair where I had to take care of so little (or nothing at all) and could devote myself fully to the enthusiasm of the interested parties. My impression of the interested parties was that they were very high-quality, but few in number. Which is good, because it meant we could spend enough time with our direct target group.”
