Create – Protect – Innovate: Bringing Ideas to Market

The course “Create – Protect – Innovate: Bringing Ideas to Market”, developed by the European Patent Office (EPO), is aimed at students and doctoral candidates who want to learn how to turn good ideas into real innovations – and protect them at the same time.   In this course, you’ll learn how to patent your inventions and what it takes to successfully bring them to market. You’ll gain exciting insights into the world of intellectual property and discover how inventors turn their ideas into reality.

What to expect:

Two different courses are offered: Entry Level and Advanced Level. Both provide a broad overview of patents and intellectual property.

  • Real-life stories of inventors, many of whom have been finalists or winners of the European Inventor Award
  • Videos, podcasts, and interactive content that clearly explain new concepts; exercises, case studies, and quizzes to deepen your understanding
  • Plenty of additional resources if you want to dive deeper into the topic
  • A final practical assignment, evaluated by IP experts

In addition to self-study, you will participate in three live sessions with professionals from the field, engage in two moderated forums with tutors and fellow participants, and receive an official certificate from the EPO upon successful completion.   In short: This course helps you not only develop your ideas, but also protect and implement them – step by step.

It may be possible to earn ECTS credits for this course. If you’re interested, please contact Alexa Kunz directly.
