The startup Inventife, a spin-off from the KIT, has developed a room sensor for detecting people's behaviour. This innovative sensor makes it possible to intelligently control buildings based on the activities of people in a room, which can save energy for heating and lighting. The sensor even recognises people who are not moving, which makes it particularly precise and versatile. In addition, the data is stored and processed locally, which protects the privacy of users and minimises security risks.
The appearance on “The Lions’ Den”
The founders Robin G and Max-Felix-Müller presented their smart home system to investors on the popular TV show “Die Höhle der Löwen”. They offered 10% of the company shares for an investment of 200,000 euros. Despite a convincing presentation and the promising technology, no deal was made. The investors Dagmar Wöhrl, Tijen Onaran, Janna Ensthaler, Ralf Dümmel, Carsten Maschmeyer, Nils Glagau and Tillman Schulz recognised the product’s potential, but decided against investing.

Optimistic outlook
Even without a deal, the founders of Inventife remain optimistic. The appearance on the show brought the start-up valuable media attention and reach. They continue to rely on the positive feedback from customers and are working tirelessly on the further development of their system. Inventife remains determined to revolutionise the smart home market and attract investors who believe in their vision.
