maKeIT HAPPEN: Physical activity in healthcare – let's go digital
We warmly invite you to our next maKeIT HAPPEN event, taking place on May 28th at the Institute for Sports and Sports Science. The event is free of charge, and snacks and drinks will be provided. The event will be held in English.
Join us in welcoming Dr. Bettina Barisch-Fritz, who will share her insights into physical activity related healthcare and planning digital interventions for nursing homes, with a focus on people with dementia. Dementia is one of the major public health challenges of our time, affecting more than 55 million people worldwide (expected to reach 139 million by 2050) and is still incurable. Research into prevention and treatment strategies is therefore not only a medical necessity, but also an important societal task.
How digital applications can make a significant contribution, especially in dementia care, will be discussed, as well as the challenges of implementing evidence-based and theory-driven digital applications in nursing homes. She will share her insights and her own perspective on how small things are sometimes overlooked along the way and how everyday things can have a big impact.
Bettina is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Sports and Sports Science and is currently completing her habilitation. She is involved in and manages several projects related to aging and physical activity, in addition to her role as family manager for three kids.
We look forward to learning from Bettina and engaging in a thought-provoking discussion. Feel free to bring your friends and colleagues along for what promises to be an insightful evening!
