Berlin was recently the hotspot for anyone who is passionate about technology and environmental protection. The Deep Tech Momentum and the GREENTECH FESTIVAL not only took the city by storm, but also the hearts of the technology and sustainability community.
Berlin, known for its dynamic scene, recently hosted the Deep Tech Momentum, a platform specifically designed to bring together founders, investors and corporate partners. The event provided an ideal opportunity for networking and the exchange of innovative ideas. Here, teams from the KIT incubator, including Phytonics with Ruben Hünig and Litona GmbH with Tom Bötticher, were able to present their advanced products and business models, which attracted great interest from investors and mentors.
A particular highlight was the insightful presentation by Matthias Hilpert from MH2 Capital, who provided valuable insights into the pitfalls of B2B sales for start-ups. The discussion between Steven Jacobs from Lakestar and Tobias Henz from McKinsey & Company, who compared the venture capital systems in the USA and Europe, also offered interesting perspectives for the audience.
GREENTECH FESTIVAL: Where innovation meets sustainability
The GREENTECH FESTIVAL, an event dedicated to the promotion of sustainable technologies, took place alongside Deep Tech Momentum. The festival, an initiative of former Formula 1 world champion Nico Rosberg, provided a stage for innovative solutions aimed at reducing the environmental impact of industry and society. One highlight was the presentation of the EXIST-funded team VITRU WATER. Led by Yannick Beyer, they presented their innovative technology for fair water distribution, which attracted a great deal of interest.
These events in Berlin have shown how important it is to think globally, act locally and always seek connections between the various players in the tech and environmental sectors. KIT-Gründerschmiede’s participation not only offered the opportunity to make important contacts, but also to gain valuable insights for the future of the teams. Such events play a crucial role in promoting innovations that can create both economic and social added value.
