On 18th July 2024, the 14th IT Security Day took place at the IHK Karlsruhe, organised by the Karlsruhe IT security initiative KA-IT-Si. As an exhibitor, we from StartUpSecure KASTEL were not only able to present our incubator, but also raise awareness for the topic of start-ups.
A successful kick-off
Special thanks go to Dirk Fox of Secorvo Security Consulting GmbH and Marc Mühleck of IHK Karlsruhe for their excellent organisation and support. The event got off to a particularly successful start with an inspiring keynote from Microsoft’s Ralf Wigand, who spoke about the current challenges in the field of security and artificial intelligence – and not, as humorously announced, about the love life of fireflies.
Highlight: The Startup Pitches
The three startup pitches from the StartUpSecure KASTEL community were a real highlight of the event. Tobias Weiß from whitemacs, Sandra Jörg from Blackpin and Dominik Weiss from Cyber Insight used the platform to present their innovative ideas. Their convincing presentations demonstrated the potential and creativity of our community. We wish them continued success on their journey!
Research in focus: MANTRA
Another highlight for StartUpSecure KASTEL and KIT was the presentation by Rohit Bohara, CTO of asvin. He presented the research project “MANTRA”, which focuses on the development of new security solutions. Asvin is a real success story for StartUpSecure and continues to support us as an incubator. We would like to thank the whole asvin team for this.
Conclusion
The 14th IT Security Day was a great success for us. We were able to make valuable contacts, expand our network and focus on the importance of IT security and entrepreneurship. We look forward to the next events and to continuing to shape the IT security landscape in Karlsruhe and beyond.
Thanks to everyone involved and see you next time!
