Overview

EnPulse Ventures GmbH organised the EnPulse Hackathon in Stuttgart in April 2023 for the second time and this time together with the KIT-Gründerschmiede and the PionierGarage. A total of 31 young and creative minds took part and had just 48 hours to find solutions to the question of how to mitigate the effects of climate change in the cities of the future.

EnPulse Ventures GmbH is an independent subsidiary of ENBW and a venture builder for start-ups in the energy transition. The participants received impulses, keynotes and coaching talks from the EnPulse experts throughout the hackathon, who shared their knowledge with the attendees and benefited from the exchange. The winning team DripDrop had an idea for transparency of water consumption in private households. The DripDrop app shows personal water consumption as well as potential saving opportunities with the help of sensors and thus motivates consumers to save water. The team received prize money of 1,500 euros and will now have further discussions with EnPulse about possible forms of cooperation. Innovation Expert at EnPulse, Robin Knapp, emphasised the importance of the different perspectives of the students to generate new ideas. The event was thus a successful exchange between EnPulse and the participants.
