New EU laws now require ethical standards and risk management when using artificial intelligence. Validaitor, a spin-off of the KIT, supports organizations in implementing the rules. The KIT secures a stake in the startup.
Other investors include Bitdefender Voyager Ventures, EnBW New Ventures and Start-up BW Seed Fund of MBG Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg.
“These investments will enable us to further develop our platform and make AI more trustworthy,” says Yunus Bulut, founder and CEO of Validaitor. ”We help our customers save up to 80 percent on AI certification costs compared to current standards.”
Validaitor offers a unique platform that includes solutions for AI governance, risk management and automated testing. In contrast to other providers, Validaitor’s offering combines testing with tools for implementation, thus simplifying compliant operations for organizations that have to deal with complex legal frameworks such as the EU AI Act or EU standards. Validaitor verifies the implementation of these requirements and facilitates strategic control over the use of AI. This includes enforcing ethical standards and transparency, as well as risk management for AI applications. The so-called red teaming is also part of the offering. Similar to penetration tests in the security sector, attacks are simulated to identify system vulnerabilities.
The newly formed investor consortium combines complementary expertise from strategically relevant industries: Bitdefender contributes in-depth cybersecurity expertise, while EnBW New Ventures contributes its expertise in the energy sector and critical infrastructures. In addition to research expertise, the KIT also contributes expertise as a startup incubator with us as the KIT-Gründerschmiede.
With Validaitor, KIT now has 13 investments in its portfolio, which are managed by our investment managers.
We are excited about the next steps and look forward to accompanying Validaitor on its journey.
